Flexographic Printing
Golden Idea is one of China’s leading packaging box manufacturers. We can supply flexographic and corrugated printed boxes. It includes bags, kraft paper boxes, trays, corrugated boxes, shipping cartons, book folders, and many more.
When it comes to flexography, the ink for printing is directly moved to a corrugated board from printing plates. It’s different from offset printing. This flexographic printing is ideally suited for printing corrugated packages. Almost all industries use flexographic printing for mailing boxes and shipping cartons.
Flexographic printing is a suitable solution to enhance brand recognition and promote business. Sometimes, flexographic printing is an opponent to litho printing. The corrugated carton’s natural brown surface makes it very eco-friendly and renewable.
Advantages of Flexographic Printing
- Perform well at high speeds
- Suitable for long printing works
- Prints on different substrate materials
- Reduced set-up times
- High-quality output guaranteed
- Terminates the requirements for an additional cost and work: die cutting, laminating, varnishing, and printing.
- Low maintenance and equipment cost
What is Flexographic Printing?
Flexography is a type of printing process in the roll-feed web. It is widely used to print various packaging and labels in large volumes. Flexo presses can print a diverse range of corrugated boards, papers, foils, paperboard, and films. It can achieve speeds up to 2000 ft/min.
Flexographic printing is suitable for different substrates like non-porous and porous materials, vinyl, papers, plastic, etc. This process can handle decorative effects and numerous inks. With accurate die-cuts, flexographic printing allows complex designs for custom labels.
How Does it Work
A versatile photopolymer plate is covered throughout a rotating cylinder to achieve a specific color. Similar to the letterpress printing process, the text and graphics for specific colors are lifted from the plate’s surface. Only the elevated plate area is inked.
The Process
- When the substrate roll unwinds, the sheets proceed between a printing station series.
- The aluminum or steel roller with superficial wells and etched surfaces is dipped into the ink fountain.
- Then, the roller should be wiped clean with a blade to leave a consistent ink layer.
- The ink now is applied to the image plate.
- The substrate is pressed as opposed to the plate to move the image onto the aspect.
- The IR dryers or UV lamps series will dry the ink for the next process.
