Die-Cutting for Custom Paper Box

When producing custom paper boxes, die-cutting is an essential manufacturing process that is frequently used. It cuts different custom shapes from the paperboard and creates different custom folding lines on the paperboard itself.

Die-cutting Processes

For cutting and creasing, a die consists of rules. During this process, the die alters forwards and backwards towards the paperboard.

After that, a sheet of cut paperboard will separate, and another set of paperboard is added right away to the machine.

The following are the steps on how Golden Idea works and finishes die-cutting operation of a custom paper box:

Step 1: Using the automatic CAD is necessary when preparing the dieline template on the computer

Step 2: Etching a dieline into a dieboard through laser die-cutting.

Step 3: Apply the cutting and creasing rules. By using either manual or automatic machines, we bend and cut steel rules precisely. Next, in a well-defined die, the cutting rules are immediately placed into the dieboard.

Step 4: Rubbering of the die. Along with the dielines, ejection rubber takes place.

Step 5: Set up the die in a press machine to begin with die-cutting operation.

Additionally, laser cutting is regarded as the most intricate and exclusive cutting technique available because it enables even the most minute details and complex designs. It operates on the most straightforward premise.

With the aid of a copper template, the actual pattern is imprinted on the paperboard. After that, a laser beam visibly moves up-down and backwards toward the template or any other locations with carved patterns, vaporizing the paperboard.

A sheet is held in place during cutting by an ejection rubber, on the other hand. The blank paperboard is also removed from the cutting die by the device.

Die-cutting rubbering ensures the satisfying quality of the finishing result. This supports higher productivity. It allows more accelerated performance as well as reducing the risk of stop due to waste or improper sheet ejection.

Cutting

Clean, particle- and loose-fiber-free edges are essential for a great cut. It gives accuracy and prevents the risk of contamination complications during the process. To guarantee clean, perfect edges, we constantly ensure that cutting is done under the appropriate conditions.

Paperboard inherits strength, toughness, and density, thus a die cutting machine must have knives that are sharp, properly set, and easy to manage. The cutting force must be in a well-controlled state in such a manner to reduce overshooting, avoiding knives from deterioration and quality degradation of the cut edges.

Creasing

For custom paper boxes, creasing makes folding easier. Since the paperboard serves as the hinges for the folding packaging boxes in this technique, the clearly defined folding lines weaken the paperboard.

In order to carry out this technique, the paperboard is forced into a channel in the make-ready. Due to the entire force used, paperboards were permanently bent in a particular way.

Die-cut Custom Paper Box

Die-cut paper box means a folding carton which is done easily without the help of glue flaps.

It is most widely seen and used in making book folders and corrugated mailer boxes.
